Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and agile Packer to join our company. You will be packing goods for shipments under the established company standards and packing procedures. You will be responsible for adhering to the safety policies when packing fragile and flammable items. 

Besides packing goods, you should be able to handle inventory and keep a detailed record of all delivered and in-transit shipments. You should collect and submit all delivery challans and invoices to the Accounting department for the tally. Inspecting and weighing products before packing is equally very important. 

You should clean shipping containers regularly and assemble damaged ones using hand tools. Moreover, you should also seal and label shipping containers according to different categories. You will be reporting any mechanical problems faced during shipment to the technical staff.

Responsibilities

• Packing shipment items as per established procedures and maintaining quality standards

• Handling inventory and managing inventory ledgers

• Adhering to safety protocols while packing

• Ensuring all packed items are moved carefully, especially fragile ones

• Inspecting for quality and weighing the products before packing

• Reporting any packing issues to the Supervisor

• Maintaining cleanliness and safe working environment

• Sorting packed items as per orders and different categories

• Prioritizing packing of urgent orders

• Loading and unloading shipments using equipment such as a forklift, dolly loader, and pallet jack

• Reporting any mechanical issues to the Production Supervisor and the technical staff

• Cleaning shipping containers regularly 

• Ensuring proper placement of packed goods in shipping containers

• Placing user instruction sticker on packed boxes

• Maintaining an accurate database of all packages

• Keeping aside any defective or damaged products

• Counting all shipping and receiving items

• Reviewing packing lists and maintaining all invoices/receipts

• Filling correct shipment details on forms and ledgers

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in any subject

• Proven work experience in the Production department or warehouse

• Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects

• Ability to manage time effectively

• Familiarity using hand tools like pliers, screwdrivers, and heavy machinery such as forklift

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Having an eye for detail

• Organized and self-motivated

•  Basic computer skills

• Willingness to work for long hours
