Job Overview 

Our Logistics department is in search of a hardworking and experienced Tow Truck Operator to be a part of our team. You will be responsible for driving the truck to accident or vehicle breakdown scenes. Besides, you should also be able to tow the damaged vehicles in a safe manner. Also, you should be able to assist in removing illegally parked vehicles. 

As a Tow Truck Operator, you should be able to take orders from the Dispatcher and communicate your enroute details to the customers. Moreover, you should also be able to maintain an accurate record of your day-to-day activities. You will also be responsible for safely loading and unloading vehicles on the tow truck. 

To be able to perform in this job role, you should hold a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and experience in handling heavy machinery. You should also be familiar with the traffic rules and regulations. You should be willing to work at flexible hours and display excellent physical dexterity.

Responsibilities 

• Taking orders from the Dispatcher 

• Driving to the accident or vehicle breakdown scene 

• Communicating with customers to understand their needs and requirements 

• Inspecting the damaged vehicle and performing minor repairs, if required 

• Examining the vehicle condition and connecting it to the tow truck with a chain 

• Taking the vehicle to an authorized service station or to the junkyard 

• Maintaining an accurate log of the day-to-day activities 

• Coordinating with customers and keeping them up-to-date with the enroute status 

• Safely loading and unloading vehicles on the tow truck 

• Scheduling tow truck repairs and ensuring that it remains in working order 

• Assisting in removing illegally parked vehicles 

Requirements 

• High school diploma or GED 

• Proven work experience as a Tow Truck Driver, Truck Driver, Lorry Driver or a similar role in the Logistics department 

• Holding a valid commercial driver’s license and a clean driving record 

• Complete knowledge of road safety protocols 

• Familiarity with GPS software and navigation tools 

• Excellent observational skills 

• Good time management and decision-making skills 

• Excellent physical dexterity 

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively 

• Willingness to travel to different locations and work at flexible hours 

• Ability to offer excellent customer service
